Speed boating to Keats Island was the reward for Scouts completing the boating course.

We spent over three months learing about boating and earning our boating operator cards. As a reward, each Scout that passed (and remembered to bring their card!) got a chance to drive the boat.

We started at Langdale, but unfortunately we didn't quite make it as far as Keats Island as we only had a total of two hours. Instead, we had a bit of fun on the water and then had a snack when we got back to Langdale.
